King of Scottish Rivers

Welcome to the home of the majestic and magnificent River Spey.

The River Spey is widely considered to be the finest river in Scotland and is one of the most important and productive salmon rivers in the UK. Famous for its whisky and salmon fishing, the region supports a wide range of wildlife, including the ‘King of Fish’, the Atlantic Salmon.

Flowing from its source in the Monadhliath Mountains, through the Cairngorm National Park and out into the Moray Firth, for hundreds of years the Spey has captured the hearts and minds of people living and visiting Speyside. With a wealth of things to do, places to visit and a dram or two to sample, it’s easy to see why people fall in love with this special region of Scotland.

RiverSpey.org is where you can find out more about the the Spey Fishery Board and learn about and support vital conservation work, as well as fishing on this iconic salmon river.
